SHRAPNEL
The band are currently wrapping up touring their critically acclaimed 3rd album, Palace For The Insane (Candlelight Records; 2020). Produced by Sam Turbitt (Unfathomable Ruination), and with artwork from the legendary Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Ghost, Soulfly, and Entombed AD), Palace For The Insane took the band to new heights and has been a huge step towards becoming a leading light in modern metal. The album combines classic, crunching, old-school riffs with modern technicality and state-of-the-art song-writing.
Previous albums The Virus Conspires (2014) and Raised On Decay (2017) were produced by metal mastermind Russ Russell (At The Gates, Napalm Death, The Haunted, and Evile) and received a massive response from fans, propelling them to the top of the UK scene. The band's growing fanbase saw them tour with bands such as Destruction, Overkill, and Xentrix, and play shows with Sepultura, Exodus, Death Angel and Sacred Reich among countless others. Both records saw the band collaborate with world-renowned artist Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sodom, Soulfly, Hate Eternal, and Kreator).
In 2019 SHRAPNEL teamed up with legendary producer Scott Atkins (Stampin' Ground, Gama Bomb, Vader, and Sylosis) to record an anniversary EP 'Decade Of Decimation'. The EP celebrated the band's history by re-recording three songs from their out-of-print debut release, plus a brand new song 'Live Vindictive'. The band spent summer 2019 touring with Swedish madmen Wolf, as well as Gama Bomb.
With new frontman Daniel Moran, one of the best underground metal singers in the UK, the band are eager to tread new ground and reach new heights. Shrapnel have spent 2023 working on a release bigger and bolder than all that has come before, with some of the most prominent names in modern metal. With a soon-to-be-announced new album on the way, UK and European live shows, and some massive things coming in 2024, it's an exciting time to be a Shrapnel fan!
With their upcoming 4th full-length album 'In Gravity', Shrapnel are poised to take over the UK modern metal scene!
